Investigators from the Romensky District Police Department, under the direction of the Romensky District Prosecutor’s Office, filed a criminal case against a 32-year-old local man who first illegally broke into a 52-year-old woman’s house and used force and then sexually assaulted her.
In May of this year, the police received a report at night that a fellow villager had illegally entered the house of a 52-year-old resident of a village in the Romensky district. The man used physical force, beat and sexually abused the woman. Then, an investigative task force of the police immediately went to the scene to document the fact of the crime.
Thus, during further inspection and pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers established that the previously convicted man, being in a state of intoxication, entered the house through her window at about 1:00 am without the mistress’s knowledge. The attacker did not want to leave someone else’s apartment, used physical force against the woman and beat her.
The woman first tried to drive the man out of the house, but after an unsuccessful attempt she simply decided to run away from him. The assailant caught up with her, held her by force, threatened her to shut up and did not call for help, beat her and in various ways committed sexual violence. The incident took place in the yard and ended when the suspect’s relatives came to the scene and stopped his illegal actions.
Investigators have now completed a pre-trial investigation into a criminal case of burglary and sexual assault committed by a 32-year-old resident of the district, and have filed an indictment.
Now the previously convicted man will appear in court for committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 153 “Sexual violence” and Part 2 of Article 162 “Violation of the inviolability of the home” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He could face up to five years in prison.
