Police warn citizens against reckless actions when buying and selling goods over the Internet

A resident of Hlukhiv region tried to buy a muffler and a resonator through the auto parts website, sending a full prepayment to the “seller”, but he never received the order, and the seller stopped communicating after receiving the funds.

A 49-year-old resident of one of the villages filed a complaint with the Hlukhiv police about the fraud. The man said that on one of the sites that sell auto parts, he found an ad for the sale of a stainless steel muffler and a resonator. He was very interested in the price and he ordered his favorite product.

For some time, he was contacted by a seller who stipulated that the goods would be delivered to him only after full prepayment to the bank card number specified by him, saying that the war and very often buyers refuse to order when the goods have already been delivered. Because of this, they incur losses.

A resident of Hlukhiv region agreed and transferred 4,800 hryvnias.

After waiting a few days for delivery, the applicant tried to contact the seller, but he stopped answering messages and calls.

The police opened a criminal case on this fact on the grounds of Part 1 of Art. 190 “Fraud” of the Criminal code of Ukraine within which the person of the swindler is established.

The police are again asking citizens to use only proven Internet resources, and do not make a prepayment for the goods ordered on the Internet, and pay for it only upon receipt. Be careful with strangers who sell – buy goods online.
