As part of the criminal proceedings, Shostka police investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office, appealed to the court with a petition, as a result of which 42 railway wagons belonging to companies registered in the country – the aggressor – were seized.
Wagons with goods and material values entered the territory of Ukraine even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the occupiers, and at the time of the start of the war, they were in the border community. Due to the fact that they contained dangerous substances that could cause an emergency, they were driven away from the border to a sparsely populated area.
Later it turned out that part of the cargo that was in the specified wagons was stolen. Based on this fact, the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 191 regarding failure to ensure proper storage during transportation of goods and material values through the territory of Ukraine.
During the investigation, the police found out that the wagons belong to companies registered in the aggressor country. In addition, they were recognized as material evidence in this criminal proceeding.
At the request of the investigator of the Shostky district police department, they were arrested by the court. The approximate value of this property is more than 30 million hryvnias. Investigations are ongoing.
