A project to install an alternative fuel boiler will be launched at the Okhtyrskaya CHPP

“Already from October, residents of Okhtyrka will be able to receive heat,” said executive director of Naftogaz of Ukraine Yury Vitrenko, who visited the Okhtyrka thermal power station, which was destroyed by Russian aircraft.

In order for the heating season to start on time and stably, a project to install a boiler on an alternative type of fuel will be implemented for the Okhtyrskaya CHP. This was announced by the head of Naftogaz JSC Yury Vitrenko, the first deputy head of the Sumy OVA Taras Savchenko and the profile deputy head of the OVA Olena Boyko during the inspection of the Okhtyrskaya TPP.

After inspecting the Okhtyrka thermal power plant damaged during the airstrike, Yuriy Vitrenko emphasized that Okhtyrka is a vivid example of how Russia purposefully destroys civilian infrastructure.

“The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr ZELENSKY, said that this year’s winter could be the most difficult for Ukraine, because the aggressor is destroying everything that is necessary for people’s livelihood,” Yuriy Vitrenko noted. – We, in turn, are doing everything possible to ensure that, despite the military aggression, people are warm. If we talk about the Okhtyrsk CHP, I can say that a new gas boiler will be installed here in the near future. We are also making a biomass boiler in parallel. What does this alternative fuel provide? First of all, lower needs for natural gas imports. And this is better both from the point of view of costs and the reliability of heat supply in the city of Okhtyrka.”

Yuri Vitrenko expressed confidence that the next heating season in the city of Okhtyrka and in other cities of Ukraine will pass normally and, despite the war, people will be warm.

“This is a big investment project and Okhtyrka became one of the few communities that will be able to receive modern new equipment that will work on an alternative type of fuel as part of the work of JSC Naftogaz,” commented Olena Boyko. – The parameters of this project provide that starting from October, residents of Okhtyrka will be able to receive heat. This is very important for us. And further, the work on the restoration of the building itself will be continued at the expense of state, local budgets and other sources.”

The deputy head of OVA also discussed with the head of Naftogaz JSC the possibility of implementing similar projects in the cities of Sumy, Shostka and Konotop.
